Representa­tive Drew Darby to present Constituti­on 101

BIG SPRING, TX– The Big Spring Area Chamber of Commerce and Howard College will be hosting an event with Representa­tive Drew Darby, from House District 72, concerning Constituti­onal Amendments that will be on the ballot for the November 7th election. This is an opportunit­y for the public to learn about and understand the 14 amendments that will appear on the ballots in order to make knowledgea­ble decisions on how they vote.

This event will take place on Wednesday, September 27th, in the Cactus room at Howard College.

St. Lawrence Fall Festival

Sunday, Oct. 1 at the St. Lawrence Parish Hall 10 miles south of Garden City on Hwy 33, then 5 miles west on FM 2401. Country Store, silent auction, booths and children’s games. German sausage and brisket lunch 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Keep Big Spring Beautiful

Will meet October 2 at the college. We meet at noon in the Cactus Room.

Our next Trash Off will be September 5 @ 6:30. We will be cleaning up around Game Stop (by Walmart). Hope to see everyone there! Everyone is invited and bring a friend. Grabbers and bags are supplied.

Big Spring State Park

Oct. 7-9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Pinhole projector making at the park headquarte­rs.

Oct. 14-Annular Eclipse viewing. The eclipse will begin approximat­ely 10:20 a.m.

Oct. 21-Celebrate butterflie­s, bees, bats and more with us! Visit with local exhibitors, make crafts, and enjoy a day in your local Texas State Park. Ongoing from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Join us at the CCC group picnic pavilion and playground area. The event is completely outdoors. Please dress for the weather and bring your own sun protection. Bring your own water bottle. Bringing your own snacks and folding chair are optional. The cost is free.

Crossroads Comic and Toy Show

Oct. 22-22 at the YMCA. Guests include Tony Daniels, Niketa Calame and Alicyn Packard and Ghost face from scream 3 Saturday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Big Spring Trade Days

Free admission. Howard County Fair Barn. 2900 Old State Hwy 80. Oct. 28 and 29. Sat. 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. More than 100 booths and food trucks. Sign up at www.upevents.org
