BIG LAKE – Forsan got off to a fast start scoring three touchdowns in the opening quarter in their district opener against Reagan County Thursday evening. The Buffaloes carried that offensive momentum into the second half and rode behinds it's defensive efforts to secure a 42-12 win over the Owls in District 3-2A play.

The Buffaloes offense proved to be too much for the Owls to contain as Forsan finished the game with a total of 442 yards of offense and five touchdowns compared to Reagan County's 209 yards of total offense and two touchdowns.

Forsan's Hayden Bowlin, Kevin Kligora, and Huston Stockton were responsible for the Buffaloes scoring drives in the first quarter. Bowlin scored off of a 76-yard touchdown pass on Forsan' second possession of the game.

Kligora would score on Forsan's third possession in the opening quarter from

8 yards out to make the score 14-0. Stockton would score towards the later part of the first quarter on a 43-yard run. Stockton would also score his second touchdown of the game right before halftime off of a 29-yard touchdown pass to give the Buffaloes a 2712 lead at the half.

The Owls would only score twice in the game and just in the first half alone. Reagan County's Nicholas Franklin was responsible for the Owls only scores as he caught both touchdown passes with

his longest by way of 58 yards.

Forsan's defense shined for most of the game as they were able to limit Owl's quarterback Kason Brown from making the big plays. The Buffaloes held Brown to just 12 yards of rushing, his lowest to date this season, and also caused Brown to fumble twice and was sacked four times in the game.

“Defensively we did exactly what we wanted to do, we knew they were going to have a couple of big plays on us especially with their quarterback (Brown) and we just had to limit those plays and I thought our defense did that sticking to the game plan.” Forsan head coach Jason Phillips said. “Overall our guys did a heck of a job of just limiting those big plays and I'm super proud of them.”

Forsan also came up with two big interceptions courtesy of Bowlin and senior defensive back Josh Rios. Offensively, the Buffaloes were balanced with the run and passing game.

Forsan rushed for a total of 269 yards while they tallied 173 yards of receiving. “Offensively we did some really good things, we mixed it up a bit, you know we threw the ball a little more this week on purpose and I thought our run game was still there and effective.” Phillips said.

Stockton led Forsan on the ground rushing for 129 yards on 17 carries and scored a touchdown. Stockton also caught one pass for a 29-yard touchdown as well. Senior Grant Roman was instrumental in the run game as he finished with 67 yards of rushing on four carries and a touchdown.

Bowlin led the Buffaloes in receiving as he finished the game with 120 yards on 3 catches and one touchdown. Forsan quarterback Nicholas Holloway finished the game completing 7 of 12 pass attempts for 173 yards and 2 TD'S. Holloway also rushed for 18 yards.

Forsan (5-1, 1-0) will now focus their attention to next Friday as they get ready to host the Anthony Wildcats at Buffalo Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
