If you had the chance to change the past, would you? John Butler's estranged father claims to have become a Christian a few months before he dies in Legacy (F WIN K) by Keith Windham. This claim causes John to examine his own life, haunted as it is by his upbringing, and by the neglectful decisions his father made while John was growing up. In an unexpected encounter with a “messenger,” John is given the opportunity to go back in time and change some of his father's past decisions. He does so, in hopes of creating for himself the childhood he feels he's always deserved. Along the way, he learns that changing God's plan for one's life carries unexpected consequences.

The Titan Project an international research station off the coast of Australia discovers a thriving zone of life in an otherwise dead sea in Tides of Fire-sigma Force Series #17 (F ROL J) by Rollins, James. The area teems with a strange bioluminescent coral that defies science yet holds great promise for the future. But the loss of a military submarine in the area triggers a brutal attack and sets in motion a geological disaster that destabilizes an entire region. Massive quakes, volcanic eruptions, and deadly tsunamis herald a greater cataclysm to come for something is stirring miles under the ocean, a threat hidden for millennia. As seas turn toxic and coastlines burn, can Sigma Force stop what has been let loose especially as an old adversary returns, hunting them and thwarting their every move for any hope of success, Commander Gray Pierce must search for a key buried in the past, hidden deep in Aboriginal mythology. But what Sigma could uncover is even more frightening, something that will shake the very foundations of humanity.

The Big Bend of Texas is Outlaw Heaven and Lawman Hell in Death Comes to Lajitas-a Texas Ranger Luke Caldwell series #3 (LP W GRI J) by James J Griffin. This vast, desolate, but starkly beautiful territory is full of hiding places and bushwack spots for thieves and killers, where every canyon may hold death, every cactus patch could be hiding a man ready to put a bullet into a peace officer's back.

Former lawman Ty Brannigan tries to rope in some skittish cattle rustlers at his family ranch and uncovers a nest of scheming bank robbers in A Month of Doomsdays-bannigan's Land #3 (LP W JOH W) BY William W. Johnstone, and J.A. Johnstone. Looks like he's going to need a bigger rope, DOOMSDAY IS COMING. Something fishy is going on with the beef at Circle P. After a quick-anddirty shootout with a small band of rustlers, Ty Brannigan and his son Matt do another count of their cattle and find they have fifty heads more than before. Seems the rustlers were hiding stolen cows from other ranches among the Brannigan herd. And that's just the tip of the cowpie. In jail, the rustlers rat out their partners to the local marshal. They're not just stealing cattle. They're plotting the biggest bank robbery in the county's bulletriddled history. And this time, they're going to make a real killing. Months in the planning and just days away the countdown to doomsday has begun. Ty, Matt, and the town marshal must race against time to track down the robbers before they strike, or innocent people will die. But the Brannigans aren't afraid of danger. When the clock runs out and the shooting starts all man's days are numbered.
