Martha Jean Parker, 96, of Lubbock, formerly of Big Spring, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 21 2 p.m. Nalley-pickle and Welch in Big Spring, Texas. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2023 at the Nalley-pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel.

Jean was born August 2, 1927 in Corinth, Ark. to parents James Michael and Chloe Myrl (Reese) Womack. She married Frank T. Parker August 1, 1964 in Big Spring. The family moved to Lorraine when she was two months old and at 10 years of age, the family moved to Ackerly. Upon high school graduation, Jean moved to Big Spring and began working for Bell Telephone Company as an operator. She worked for the telephone company over 25 years.

Jean was a devoted Christian and member of 14th & Main Church of Christ until she moved to Lubbock in 2017. Jean loved her family, especially her son, David Carter. She loved sports, especially college basketball. Jean loved to laugh and shared that joy with family and friends.

Survivors include son David and wife Lalani Carter; grandson Christophe­r and wife Page Carter; granddaugh­ter Kenee' and husband Matt Dover; great grandsons Hudson, Canyon, and Pierson Dover. Jean is also survived by one sister Ruth and husband Don Floyd along with several nieces and nephews.

Jean was preceded in death by her husband Frank Parker; parents James Michael and Chloe Meryl Reese Womack; brother James Womack; and sister Mary Hooten.
