Scott Allen Buck, 50, of Big Spring, passed away Sunday, November 19, 2023 in Odessa. A celebration of life service will be 4 PM Monday at Myers & Smith Chapel.
Scott was born in Batavia, NY on May 29, 1973. He had been a longtime area resident and had worked as a construction superintendent most recently for the N. C. Sturgeon Construction Company of Midland with his good friend, Harrison Poitivent. During his construction career, Scott worked on various projects including the first walk-in Sonic in Texas, banks, prisons, and hospitals. He had also worked for Jody Nix as a roadie, and driver. More than just his employer, Jody was a father figure for Scott. Scott loved to build things, loved his Chevys, and music. He particularly enjoyed Country Rap. He loved to dance and had taught his children and niece Amanda as well. He enjoyed playing video games, going fishing, collecting shoes, and could be a “prankster” at times. Scott married Sheli Wallace in 1996. They had been together since 1992. He loved his family and was “that special kind of Dad” that every child deserves. He always had snacks or candy for the kids and grandchildren. As a younger man, Scott was a professional boxer. He was a three time Golden Gloves Champion.
He is survived by his wife, Sheli Wallace Buck; his son, Devin Buck; daughters, Kelsie Johnson, Ashley Flores (Alonso), and Madyson Buck; his siblings, Robert Buck, Sherry Schiavone, Pearl Link, Chet Link, Phillip Link, and Kandy Vanway; his grandchildren, Mason his buddy, Zaetah, Kayson, Ava, Eddie, Violette, Paisley, Beaudon, Casey Ray, Lane, Aubreigh, Scarlette, and K’mya.
