Iheart the holidays: ABC partners with iheartradio to televise 2023’s ‘Jingle Ball’
ABC and iheartradio give the gift of music this holiday season, as 2023’s “iheartradio Jingle Ball” is televised, with footage from the star-studded concert series airing Thursday, Dec. 21, on ABC.
This airing was announced as part of a multi-year agreement made between the network and iheartmedia, with ABC to become the exclusive television broadcast partner for this iconic yearly event, with Hulu signing on as a streaming partner, releasing the special the next day, Friday, Dec. 22.
“The biggest holiday music event in America is coming to ABC for the first time,” announced John Sykes, president of Entertainment Enterprises for iheartmedia. “Viewers will have a front-row seat to experience this multicity tour as it rolls across the country.”
This year’s event — a series of concerts held from Sunday, Nov. 26, to Saturday, Dec. 26 — featured performances held across the country, with stops including Tampa, Florida; Dallas/fort Worth; Los Angeles; Chicago; Detroit; New York City; Boston; Washington, D.C.; Philadelphia; Atlanta; and Fort Lauderdale/miami.
The televised special features footage from this year’s top performers from each and every show, with ABC promising artists such as Usher (“Confessions,” 2004), Niall Horan
(“The Show,” 2023), Olivia Rodrigo (“GUTS,” 2023), Nicki Minaj (“Pink Friday 2,” 2023), SZA (“SOS,” 2022), Onerepublic (“One Night In Malibu,” 2022), AJR (“The Maybe Man,” 2023), Sabrina Carpenter (“Emails I Can’t Send,” 2022), Miguel (“All I Want Is You,” 2010), Jelly Roll (“Whitsitt Chapel,” 2023), Big Time Rush (“Another Life,” 2023), NCT DREAM (“ISTJ,” 2023), Flo Rida (“Mail on Sunday,” 2008) and more.
Doechii (“Oh The Places You’ll Go,” 2020), Kaliii (“Toxic Chocolate,” 2022), LANY (“Mama’s Boy,” 2020), P1harmony (“HARMONY: ALL IN,” 2023), Pentatonix (“The Lucky Ones,” 2021), Melanie Martinez (“Portals,” 2021), Ice Spice (“Like..?,” 2023), Ludacris (“Back For the First Time,” 2000) and many more also performed throughout 2023’s “Jingle Ball,” potentially making appearances in the special.
The network has also shared that for the 10th consecutive year, all cities involved in the tour have partnered with the Ryan Seacrest Foundation, a “non-profit organization dedicated to inspiring today’s youth through entertainment and education focused initiatives,” according to ABC.
