But the historic fixer-upper she buys comes with even more work than she anticipated when the house's previous occupants don't seem to be ready to depart in The Shop on Royal Street-royal Street Series #1 (M WHI K) by Karen White.

Although she can't communicate with ghosts like her stepmother, luckily Nola knows someone in New Orleans who can, even if he's the last person on earth she wants anything to do with, ever again. Because Beau Ryan comes with his own dark past, a past that involves the disappearance of his sister and parents during Hurricane Katrina, and the unsolved murder of a woman who once lived in the old Creole Cottage Nola is determined to make her own whether the resident restless spirits agree.

Samuel Adler was six years old when his father disappeared during Kristallnacht the night their family lost everything in The Wind Knows My Name (F ALL I) by Isabel Allende.samuel's mother secured a spot for him on the last Kindertransport train out of Nazi occupied Austria to the United Kingdom, which he boarded alone, carrying nothing but a change of clothes and his violin. Arizona, 2019. Eight decades later, Anita Diaz, a blind seven-year-old girl, and her mother board another train, fleeing looming danger in El Salvador and seeking refuge in the States.

However, their arrival coincides with the new family separation policy, and Anita finds herself alone at a camp in Nogales. She escapes through her trips to Azabahar, a magical world of the imagination she created with her sister back home. Anita's case is assigned to Selena Duran, a young social worker who enlists the help of a promising lawyer from one of San Francisco's top law firms. Together they discover that Anita has another family member in the United States: Leticia Cordero, who is employed at the home of now eightysix-year-old Samuel Adler, linking these two lives.

Philippa, elder daughter of the Earl of Stratton, grew up eagerly anticipating a glittering debut and a brilliant marriage in Remember Me-ravenswood Series #2 (F BAL M) by Mary Balogh. Then her brother caught their father out in a clandestine affair and denounced him publicly. The whole family was disgraced, and Philippa's hopes grew dim, then were fully shattered when she overheard the dashing, handsome Marquess of Roath viciously insult her upon learning of her father's identity.

Only years later does Philippa find the courage to go to London at last to meet the ton. She is an instant success and enjoys a close friendship with the granddaughter of a duke. Only one man can spoil everything for her, but surely, he will not be in London this year.

The Duke of Wilby is nearing death and has tasked his grandson and heir, Lucas Arden, Marquess of Roath, with marrying and producing a son before it is too late. Lucas, who usually shuns London, goes there early in the Season in the hope of finding an eligible bride before his grandparents come and find one for him.

He is instantly attracted to his sister's new friend, until that young lady asks a simple “Remember me?” And suddenly he does remember her, as well as the reason why the daughter of the Earl of Stratton is the one woman he can never marry even if his heart tells him she is the only woman he wants. Unfortunately for Philippa and Lucas, the autocratic duke and his duchess have other ideas and believe them to be perfect for each other.

They will simply not take no for an answer. Telling Philippa, the full truth is the hardest thing Lucas has ever faced, and the discovery of it will change them both before they discover the healing power of love.

On a NUMA training mission in the Caribbean, Kurt Austin and Joe Zavala catch a distress call from a nearby freighter in Condor's Fury-numa Files Series #20 (F CUS C) by Clive Cussler. Leaping into action, they locate a damaged vessel and a dead captain clutching a shotgun.

While searching the freighter for clues, Kurt and Joe are ambushed by crew members who seem terrified and disoriented, almost brainwashed. The trawler they were hauling has vanished, taken the men say by baffling lights that circled the ship.

Kurt and Joe deduce that the men are suffering from Havana Syndrome, which deepens the mystery and raises the stakes. Soon, they're confronting Cuban mercenaries who plan to use magnificent modern airships to hijack a nuclear submarine culminating in a life-or-death showdown in the skies.
