Big Spring Herald Athletes of the Week
This week’s winners of the Big Spring Herald’s Athlete of the Week are big Spring’s Kavien Ford and Coahoma’s Baylor Wright voted by you the fans. KAVIEN FORD – BIG SPRING STEERS BASKETBALL
Ford played an exceptional game last week against San Angelo Lakeview as his efforts aided in the Steers first District 5-4A win.
Ford was just three-points shy of having a 20-point game as he ended up settling for 17 points in the game against Chiefs. Ford would also go on to record five rebounds and four steals.
In this past Tuesday’s district game against Levelland, Ford would score eight points with eight rebounds and a couple of steals.
BAYLOR WRIGHT – COAHOMA BULLDOGETTES BASKETBALL A three-year varsity letterman and starter, Baylor Wright has not only been a high scorer for the Bulldogettes but as one of the top scorers in the Crossroads
area.
Wright has been averaging 18 points a game since the start of District 6-3A play. Wright had another impressive performance this past Tuesday against Ballinger as she racked up 18 points to lead Coahoma in scoring.
In her previous two district games Wright recorded 26 points in Coahoma’s huge win over San Angelo TLCA and 13 points in the Bulldogettes win over Grape Creek last week.
Congratulations to both Kavien Ford and Baylor Wright on being named this week’s Athletes of the Week.
