Locking in love: ‘Love is Blind’ Season 6 makes ‘love day’ bingeable

-

Love is in the air, and for these singles, it’s as blind as ever. With drama, romance, relationships and a new crate of its infamous wine glasses, “Love is Blind” returns with an all-new season of blind “I Do’s” when Season 6 premieres Wednesday, Feb. 14, on Netflix.

As with previous seasons, veteran co-hosts and real-life couple Nick and Vanessa Lachey (also hosts of Netflix’s “The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On”) will lead a group of singles through this unusual experiment, in which they meet with a series of potential partners in the hopes of finding their one true love and heading to the alter.

The catch, of course, is that this over-the-top game of speed dating leaves the singles totally blind, stuck in isolated pods so that they cannot see the other people they are talking to. To make a connection, they must rely solely on conversation alone, and anyone interested in more must propose marriage to their “match” before meeting face-to-face.

As recently described by Netflix Tudum, in this season “a brand-new pod squad is about to capture your attention (and dominate your group chats), when 30 eligible singles step into the experiment to risk it all for love. Ranging from 25 to 37 years old, this new group is ready to be loved for who they are — and not for what they look like on the outside.”

Season 6 singles include two flight attendants, a middle school principal, a salesman with a DJ side hustle, a former three-sport athlete-turned-makeup artist and more, according to the streamer, with each single looking to cut through the static of modern dating and form authentic relationships.

“This season, the singles form deep and immediate connections, setting the stage for an unexpected journey full of twists, turns and shocking revelations that will test each relationship well after the participants leave the pods for the real world,” Netflix’s news release for the series went on to say.

Starting with the release of the season’s first six episodes, new episodes will be released every following Wednesday, chronicling the budding pod-made relationships as they navigate the real world and plan for their upcoming weddings. The season culminates with the remaining couples’ nuptials, and then, as with previous seasons, welcomes all pairings back for a final reunion episode, this time airing Wednesday, March 6, on the streamer.

From creator Chris Coelen (“Perfect Match”), Season 6 of “Love is Blind” premieres Wednesday, Feb. 14, on Netflix — just in time for Valentine’s Day.
