Delisa Gayle Wade, 58, sadly transition­ed on February 14, 2024, at her Big Spring, TX home after a lengthy battle with cancer.

The memorial service will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at the Nalley-pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel located at 906 Gregg St., Big Spring, TX 79720.

Delisa was born August 14,1965 in Alva, Oklahoma to her parents Dewayne Steven Wagner and Dana Gayle Turner (Reed). Her family moved to Big Spring, Texas in 1973. She attended Big Spring High School and was a member of the graduating class of 1983. During her teenage years, Delisa worked at her family-owned Sonic Drive-in. She married Kirk Jay Wade of Big Spring, TX on August 28, 1982. They were married for 17 years and had two sons, Kelly Jay, and Tyler Jay Wade.

Delisa received her license as a Certified Respirator­y Therapist in 1994. She worked at Scenic Mountain Medical Center for ten years, spent five years as the manager of Home Health Services, before finishing her career of fifteen years at the Veteran’s Hospital in Big Spring. In May of 2017 while working at the VA, Delisa met her fiancé, Joel William Jackson.

In 2022, Delisa was diagnosed with cancer. During her lengthy battle, Joel, who is a cancer survivor himself, never left her side and continued to take care of her in their home till the end. Delisa passed peacefully at home surrounded by family and loved ones.

Delisa will always be remembered for her caring and nurturing dispositio­n. She embodied the best of qualities: unconditio­nal love, strength of spirit and unending generosity that could be seen in her care of family and others. She was truly loved by everyone who knew her. Her fun loving and witty personalit­y drew people to her and cumulated into many lifelong friendship­s.

Delisa is survived by her fiancé Joel William Jackson; eldest son, Kelly Jay Wade, wife TJ, granddaugh­ter Reese, and grandson, Rylan of Midland (who referred to her as “Gigi”); youngest son, Tyler Jay Wade of Midland; Mother and Stepfather, Steve and Dana Turner of Big Spring; brother, Deric Steven Wagner of Houston; brother, Dancel Christophe­r Wagner, wife Sohnna, nephews Mathew and Kaiden Wagner, Ayden Williams of Big Spring; grandmothe­r, Wanda May Reed of Great Bend, Kansas.

Delisa is preceded in death by her father, Dewayne Steven Wagner; grandfathe­r, Ora Dancel Reed; grandmothe­r, Florence Christena Wagner and nephew, Caleb Gene Wagner.

The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to all of Delisa’s friends and family who sacrificed their time and offered to do or provide anything she might need. Delisa was truly blessed to have all of you in her life.
