Coahoma thinclads dominate Forsan Stampede meet

Forsan's Hayden Bowlin sets school record in 100 meter dash

FORSAN, TX – Coahoma's junior varsity and varsity teams claimed the overall team titles at the Forsan Stampede track meet on Thursday.

The junior varsity team won the team title scoring a total of 212.5 points while the varsity team won the meet with 121 points. Odessa Compass finished second overall in the boys division.

Coahoma sophomore Noel Loya claimed gold in the varsity boy's 800 meter run, winning the race in a time of 2:09.52. Junior Jaidyn Vineyard and sophomore Andre Rushin contribute­d to the Bulldogs win as they earned silver in the sprinting events.

Vineyard finished second in the 100 meter finals with an overall time of 11 seconds flat. Rushin finished second in the 200 running 24 seconds flat.

Senior hurdler Reagan Chapman claimed gold in

the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 15.96 and finished second in the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 43.34 seconds. Chapman also finished second in the high jump and third in the triple jump.

Senior Nick Tuttle finished third in the varsity boy's 400 meter dash with a time of 55.84 seconds. The Bulldogs relay teams claimed second in the 4x100 relay with a time of 44.68 and 4x200 meter relay with a time of 1:35.00. The Bulldogs 4x400 meter relay finished third with a time of 3:43.67.

Forsan sophomore Hayden Bowlin had an exceptiona­l night as he claimed gold in both the 100 and 200 meter dash sprinting events. Bowlin broke a 13-year old school record in the 100 meter dash as he ran to a personal best of 10.94 seconds. Bowlin followed that up with another impressive performanc­e in the 200 winning the event in a time of 22.96 seconds.

Forsan's 4x100 meter relay team finished third overall in the varsity boys race with a time of 44.80 seconds.

Coahoma will be off next week as they get ready for the District 6-3A track meet in Clyde on April 3rd and 4th. Forsan will travel to Colorado City next Thursday for the Colorado City Invitation­al in their final regular season meet before the district meet in Sonora on April 3rd and 4th.
