“The Danny Thomas Show” (METV, Sunday, May 5): Also known as “Make Room for Daddy,” this sitcom rarely is shown now, but this particular episode has special significance since it introduced Andy Griffith as Sheriff Andy Taylor. Of course, that actor and character would be spun off into another long-running success, “The Andy Griffith Show.” Here, Thomas’ Danny Williams makes a traffic error while passing through Mayberry, N.C., leading to him making the acquaintance of the lawman. Later “Griffith Show” regulars Ron(ny) Howard and Frances Bavier also appear.

“Kiss of the Dragon” (FXX, Sunday, May 5): Jet Li did much to cement his international stardom with this action-packed 2001 adventure, casting him as a Chinese intelligence agent on assignment in Paris, where he ends up framed for the murder of the underworld kingpin he was supposed to help capture. Bridget Fonda is an interesting choice of co-star as a prostitute who becomes the hero’s main ally, with Tcheky Karyo as a detective who is far from helpful.

“Caddyshack” (AMC, Wednesday, May 8, Thursday, May 9, and Saturday, May 11): A number of comedy greats merge efforts in this 1980 hilarity fest about the patrons and staff of a country club where golf is taken seriously — but not too seriously. Chevy Chase, Rodney Dangerfield and Ted Knight play prominent members, with Bill Murray as a groundskeeper obsessed with eliminating a particularly pesky gopher (who dances to Kenny Loggins’ “I’m Alright” during the memorable opening credits). Michael O’keefe and Cindy Morgan also star.

“Quincy, M.E.” (get TV, Saturday, May 11): The episode “Requiem for the Living” puts an interesting twist on the premise of the classic movie “D.O.A.,” with John Vernon — well-known as stern Dean Wormer in “National Lampoon’s Animal House” — playing a mobster who’s been poisoned. Desperate, he holds Quincy and Sam (Jack Klugman, Robert Ito) captive and forces them to use their skills to save him and identify the person who placed him in such physical peril.
