Cowboy Hall of Fame - 2019 Inductees
The 86th Big Spring Cowboy Reunion and Rodeo will draw cowboys and cowgirls from around the state to compete in the three-night event. The rodeo will kick off June 20 and run through June 22. The rodeo will include the traditional bronc riding, bull riding, calf roping, team roping, barrel racing and entertainment. Rodeo Announcer Mike Mathis will be returning once again to provide the voice of the long standing rodeo.
An opportunity for budding cowboys and cowgirls will be offered with the nightly runs of Mini Bronc Riding and Mutton Busters. The competition will take place in the R360 Rodeo Bowl and is open to kids 12 and under. Mutton Busters begins at age 5. There is as 50 pound weight limit. Entry fee is $50 per night to ride. Before the rodeo gets started, the Heritage Museum will kick off the week of activities with the annual Legends and Legacies fundraiser dinner. This year the event will take place at the recently renovated Howard County Fair Barn. Tickets are available for purchase, at the Heritage Museum, for $50 per person and a child’s meal ticket can be purchased for $8. The Heritage Museum is located at 510 Scurry. The Quail Dobbs Memorial Rodeo Parade will wrap up rodeo week, on Saturday at 10 a.m. Entries are still being accepted until June 19. For those entered in the parade, line up will begin at 10th and Main. To enter or request more information, stop by KBEST Media studios.
