BSCSC to host tonight

Medicaid can be a tricky topic to navigate. For those wanting to understand the process, Big Spring Center for Skilled Care is offering an information session on June 18 at 6:30 p.m.

“We have a lot of families come through who have so many questions when it comes to the medicaid process and we want to help them understand and aleviate some of the frustration and insecurities,” Christy Brownfield, Big Spring Center for Skilled Care Marketing Director, said.

Big Spring Center for Skilled Care has teamed up with The Hyde Law Firm to debunk the myths surrounding medicaid. Paul Hyde will be the guest speaker.

“One of the more common fears we hear from families is they think they are going to lose their homes, if they apply for medicaid, and that’s not the case. Part of the presentation will be going over assets, financials and what can be kept,” Brownfield said.

Light snacks will be provided during the presentation, which will take place at BSCSC, located at 3701 Wasson Road. The event is free and the community is encouraged to attend.

“This is going to be a beneficial informational session for everyone honestly; whether you are a caregiver for aging parents or planning for your future, there will be good information,” Brownfield said.
