The God Factor thegodfactor@yahoo.com

The God Factor is dedicated to God for the people of God and those who are seeking God. Our desire is to be filled with the Spirit of God, to live to the glory of God, to grow in Christlikeness, to love as Jesus loves, to stand for the Truth of God's Word, and be Christ's faithful witnesses to the world. Forgiveness

“If we confess our sins, His is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” I John 5.9

There is no greater gift than forgiveness. It is the most freeing experience, and, just as significant and freeing, is forgiving others. Here is what people have said to me when they finally forgave whoever they were mad or embittered toward: “I feel free. I am now released from anger and resentment. When I forgave, there was a heaviness lifted from me. I have no more anxiety and loneliness.”

When we hold onto our hurts, they fester and begin to eat away from the inside. Bitterness sets in and there is no real peace. To not forgive is like drinking a poison each day and expecting the other person to pay, when in fact, we are the ones who pay.

This is also true when we refuse to forgive ourselves. To accept God's forgiveness and not forgive ourselves is like making ourselves bigger than God. Kind of silly, huh?

Let's be clear. The truth is that God in Christ will forgive any and all our wrongs and will make us right with God. Because of God's phenomenal love and grace, you can be free, and because you are free, you now have the capability to forgive others.

May the freeing forgiveness of God be THE GOD FACTOR in our daily lives!
