A golf tournament will be held at Comanche Trail Municipal Golf Course, and all proceeds will benefit the local Veterans Outpost.

“All the money raised will be used to host future events for the veterans,” says Darrell Frith, Veterans Services Manager for the Outpost. “As always, we need volunteers to work the event, and sponsorship opportunities are also available.”

The tournament will take place on Saturday, Oct. 12, 2019. Registration is at 8 a.m.; shotgun start at 9 a.m. Registration fees will cover lunch, green fees, and two golf carts per team of four golfers. There will be cash payouts to the top three teams, and payout amount will depend on the number of golfers. There will also be optional rucksacks available for purchase, which include one 10 foot piece of string, three mulligans, and one underhand throw. Side games will also be offered for a chance to win prizes; there will be a fee to enter these side games.

The Veterans Outpost is located at 3205 S. Hwy 87. It is a place where veterans, service members, and their families can go to for support and training, according to Outpost representatives.

It is a place to get-together and to be connected to resources available for veterans and service members. It is a non-clinical, come-and

go facility with available group-meeting space, private meeting rooms, a children’s area, and a computer area.

The Outpost is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and there are activities throughout the day.
