Commission­ers approve routine agenda items

Howard County Commission­ers convened in the Howard County Third Floor Courtoom on Monday afternoon to discuss a routine agenda, following a budget workshop.

No citizens were present for Citizen's input which led the Commission­ers to head directly into the agenda for the afternoon.

Howard County Judge Kathryn Wiseman kicked off the meeting reporting on the Judicial Education Record for the current Fiscal Year. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, continuing education classes have been limited. According to Howard County Judge Wiseman, each year she is required to have 16 hours and due to the current situation, she was able to carry over hours from last year. Judge Wiseman has also registered for some classes online to count towards 2021 required hours.

Following Judge Wiseman's report, the Commission­ers moved on to discuss and approve the Tax Appraisal Budget. The proposed budget was emailed to Commission­er's in preparatio­n for the meeting and no discussion was needed. The Tax Appraisal Budget was approved unanimousl­y with no discussion.

According to County Treasurer Sharon Adams, the County received a TAC Unemployme­nt refund check in the amount of $9,044. 83. Adams said there was a rate decrease for 2021. The Commission­ers voted to approve the refund check.

The County Commission­ers also approved the Public Workers Compensati­on Program Howard County Addendum to the Interlocal Agreement.
