During the public hearing, those wishing to speak regarding the proposed budget or tax rate can do so before the meeting adjourns.
The second special meeting will take place at 5:45 p.m. also in the high school board room. The Board of Trustees will open the meeting with public comments before moving onto the consent agenda.
The Board will look to approve minutes from the Aug. 13, 2020 regular board meeting
before heading into the action items on the agenda.
Topping the action items is the approval of the updated 2020-2021 school calendar. Students returned to the classroom on Aug. 19 and are taking part in classes in person or online, depending on the situation that works best for the families.
Board of Trustees will also look at approving innovative course of kinesiology, before heading into the discussion on budget and tax rates for the upcoming fiscal year.
The Board of Trustees will be looking to approve the final amended budget for 20192020
and then look at approving the proposed budget for 2020-21 Fiscal Year. After the proposed budget is discussed and possible action is taken, the trustees will be looking to approve the tax rate resolution for Tax Year 2020.
The public is invited to attend any or all of the public hearings and special meetings that have been called by Howard College and Big Spring ISD.
