my store not only with things they need for work, but to help them by using those resources,” Jones said. “I love seeing people happy and ready to help when they are able. I am beyond humbled and honored to receive this award.”

While the Women of Distinction award was one that took Jones by surprise, it offered a well-deserved moment of recognition. Jones is active in numerous activities with the H-E-B company, but also takes every opportunity she can to get involved in community organizations and volunteer efforts, including United Way and with her church. Every opportunity is a door to learn something new, according to Jones.

“This has been a year for all of us, and one of the biggest lessons I've taken from all of this is the importance of being a little kinder, and a little more understanding. It's important that we all show a little more patience and empathy towards others,” she said.

As far as why she continues to strive to make an impact in her work day and for her community, she encourages those in the community to think outside the box, and help in situations that aren't what we are used to.
