Coahoma Ag program collecting donations for Hurricane Laura victims

The Coahoma Ag program is collecting donations of non-perishable goods to help with the ongoing relief efforts for the victims of Hurricane Laura.
The collection drive will run through Friday, Sept. 4.
Some items needed are blankets, clothes, canned beans, canned pasta, pet food, cleaning supplies, medical supplies, baby wipes, and cases of bottled water.
Other suggestions include dry cereal, canned fruits, canned vegetables, canned juice, ready to eat canned soups and meats, peanut butter, crackers, nuts, granola and energy bars, rice, pasta, pasta sauce, seasoning, and oats.
First aid and cleaning supplies would be welcome including first aid kits, toilet paper, moist towelettes, garbage bags, dish soap, aluminum foil, paper towels, paper plates and cups, food storage bags or containers, flashlights, tool kits, mosquito repellent, rain gear, plastic sheeting, rope, duck tape, manual can opener, and strike-anywhere matches.
Also appreciated would be donations of baby supplies such as diapers, wipes, formula or baby food, bottles, and rash ointment. Pet supplies are also needed including pet food, leashes and collars, water and food bowls, and carriers.

John Randal Lewis, 61, died Wednesday. Services are pending at Myers & Smith Funeral Home.
Gerald Verba, 68, died Friday, August 7, 2020. Burial will be at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Abilene.
Shirlie Faye Cobb, 76, died Saturday. Visitation will be Tuesday at Myers & Smith Funeral Home from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Graveside services will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday at Coahoma Cemetery.
Gilbert M. Rubio, Sr. 58, of Big Spring died Monday, August 31, 2020. Visitation will be 9:00 AM until 9:00 PM Thursday with a vigil service at 7:00 PM at Myers & Smith Chapel. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 AM Friday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with burial at Coahoma Cemetery.
Donald Ray Hodnett, 79, of Big Spring, died Sunday, August 30, 2020. Memorial service will be at 11:00 AM Friday at The First Church of the Nazarene.
