Sunday School starts at 10 a.m., Worship begins at 11 a.m., and our Sunday and Wednesday night meetings are at 6:30 p.m. We are studying the books of Acts. Something to think about…
“Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil…” ~ Jesus
“Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin. Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.” ~ Hebrews 4:14-16 NIV
On this faith journey following Jesus we will all face temptation. We wrestle with desires daily that would draw us away from God’s will and way for our life. From small character compromises to significant sins, they all threaten to derail us from our ultimate spiritual direction. I am reminded that Jesus was also tempted “in every way” but did not give into sin. He continued to walk in loving obedience with His heavenly Father. No matter what temptations we may face today, we don’t have to give in to sin. We can resist evil. May we continue to turn our eyes upon Jesus, fix our focus on God’s Kingdom, and draw near to God finding an ever flowing stream of mercy and grace to get us through the day!
This Sunday - “Christians don’t simply learn or study or use Scripture; we assimilate it, take it into our lives in such a way that it gets metabolized into acts of love, cups of cold water, missions into all the world, healing and evangelism and justice in Jesus’ name, hands raised in adoration of the Father, feet washed in company with the Son.” ~ Eugene Peterson
Each week the NazFamily gathers to not only hear and study the Scriptures, but to learn how to apply the word to our daily lives. Join us this Sunday as we continue to journey together as followers of Jesus!
