Toasty Tues­day: Vol­un­teers en­cour­aged to join in the clean up ef­forts each week

Last week 11 vol­un­teers turned out to help clean up Bird­well Park, as part of Toasty Tues­day. Since the on­set of warmer tem­per­a­tures Keep Big Spring Beau­ti­ful has been mak­ing their way across Big Spring clean­ing up one area at a time. Each week, at 6:30 p.m. on Tues­day, the group meets and in­vites vol­un­teers to join in the ef­forts. Trash bags, gloves and grab­bers are pro­vided for those want­ing to help out. At Bird­well Park the 11 vol­un­teers picked up 18 bags of trash in just un­der one hour. This week, Toasty Tues­day will be fo­cus­ing on the Down­town area of Big Spring. Vol­un­teers are asked to meet on the east side of the Howard County Court­house at 6:30 p.m. (off of Main Street) and for about an hour will be clean­ing around Down­town Big Spring. Com­mu­nity mem­bers, fam­i­lies, youth or­ga­ni­za­tions, church groups, and any other groups want­ing to help out are en­cour­aged to do so.
