Board appointments, city code amendments top Council agenda
New appointments to City Boards and Committees will be a large focus of tonight’s City Council meeting at 5:30 p.m. New resumes and openings on the eight boards and committees under the City jurisdiction will be discussed and possibly have new members appointed. In addition to the Boards and Committees discussion, City Council member Gloria McDonald will be presenting the first reading of a resolution amending Section 9 of the Purchasing Policy entitled “Purchase orders” to limit purchases the Big Spring City Code entitled “Administration” for Council by amending Section 2-19 Member “Reimbursement of Expenses of City use of Council” by adding a new subsection computer to prohibit issuance of payment cards hardware to Councilmembers; by adding a new and related subsection 2-27 entitled “No key access goods to City Buildings” to prohibit councilmembers and services from having a key to any city by building and adding a new section 2-28 requiring entitled “No office for Councilmembers” City to restrict councilmembers from establishing Council an office in any city building; to approve providing for severability; and providing an effective date. such purchases Council members will also hear the in first reading of a resolution amending advance; Chapter IX of the Big Spring personnel cancelling policy entitled “Conduct” Section 3 “Political orders Activity” to reduce political activity of restrictions on non-firefighter city such goods and services currently in employees to the same level as firefighter effect; and declaring equipment purchased city employees; to allow employees to without such approval surplus run for office; and providing for an effective property and ordering it to be sold; and date, which will be presented by providing an effective date.
