Forsan will host the Colorado City Wolves this Friday after two weeks off

- By SHAWN MORAN Herald Sports Writer

The Buffs were expected to travel to Reagan County two weeks ago to take on the Owls, but health concerns caused Forsan to change plans. They had their scheduled Bye Week last Friday and will take on C-City this Friday.

The last time the Buffs took the field, they were victorious for the second straight week with their thrilling 3130 overtime victory over the McCamey Badgers on the road.

After scoring the go-ahead toucdown in overtime, the Forsan defense made a crucial, clutch stop when McCamey went for a two-point converstion following their own touchdown.

The Buffs’ offense has been muchimproved over the last two weeks and they have begun to put up points after a 310 N. St. Peter • Stanton • 432-607-2516 tough start to the season being matched up against the strong defenses of Coahoma and Post in the first two weeks. They will try to get better next week before heading into their first district battle of the season against Colorado City.

“We’ve executed better and up-front has been the big difference,” Head Coach Jason Phillips said. “Our offensive line has really molded over the last couple of weeks and especially during that second half against McCamey. We were able to impose our will on them and we were firing off of the ball extremely hard and we’re moving the line of scrimmage.”

Running backs Nate Hernandez and Chris Mendez will need to continue their fast and hard running when the Buffs meet their first district rival under the lights this Friday night.
