Life Center of Big Spring expansion project moving along, completion expected by December

Expansion is in progress at the Life Center of Big Spring. Through the support donations of generous supporters, the Big Spring location is expanding by almost 600 square feet, which will allow for added services.

“Since the pandemic started, compared to last year at this same time, we are up 28% when it comes to new clients,” Tracy Watson, Life Center Director, said. “There are more people needing help and support, whether it be first time parents or parents of young children.”

The new addition is expected to be completed by Christmas of this year. Once the constructi­on is complete, the center will be able to offer sonograms for clients. A nurse will also be conducting visits at the center one day a week, which will open the door to more education and health care services locally.

“We will be providing sonograms in our office now for moms as early as eight weeks along and be able to offer nurse visits,” she said. “This is going to be a big help because it will allow our clients to have access to these services earlier on in their pregnancy. While we send our clients to Midland for sonograms currently, this will allow them to have this service locally, in our office, without having to drive out of town.”
