A Father’s protection

-

Many times in my childhood I became frightened. If there was a storm approaching and Daddy was home, I would stand out in the wind and watch it roll in.

But, if Daddy wasn't home, I would be scared to go out the door. He was my protector from danger. He was my best friend as I grew older and became an adult. I could count on him to give me great advice.

I remember when I was buying my first car. I asked him to come look at it and approve what I was buying. He took me to the auto dealership and dropped me at the door and said, “Go in and buy your car; you've got this by yourself.”

I did and purchased the car with no problem. But I knew Dad was waiting for me outside and would come in and assist me if I called for this help.

Growing up, when Daddy was home, everything was smooth and peaceful. If he wasn't home, I had an uneasy feeling and things didn't go well. Now, I am much older. My son and grandchildren call me once in awhile for advice. I always tell them what my daddy told me.

“Go on and do this, you've got this by yourself.”

And they know if they get in a bind they can call me back and I will help them.

We are in a pandemic situation in our world today as we well know.

So who do we call for advice. I don't think anyone human knows the answers to life right now and what's going to happen when this stuff adjusts itself back to some kind of “normalcy”.

So I believe in my Heavenly Father. He does know what's going on. He will bring peace in the midst of this stormy mess. He is in control and will never, ever, ever, ever give over control to anyone else. Because He has the answers, and at this juncture in time knows what will happen next, we could do nothing better than to put our faith and trust in His son. We are guaranteed to come out on the peaceful side of life when we do.

And the best part of all of this is: Our Father is always home.
