Forsan team loaded with juniors falls short in Bi-District round to San Saba
The Forsan Buffaloes put up a strong fight but fell short (31-17) in their BiDistrict matchup against San Saba last Friday night in Wall.
The game was tied 10-10 at halftime, but the Armadillos were able to put together a strong third quarter and pull away from the Buffaloes. Forsan’s defense played well and their offense moved the ball at times, but San Saba was able to make just a few more plays than them to leave Wall with a victory.
Forsan exceeded expectations this season and are loaded with a strong junior class that will be returning to suit up in the black and white next fall. Both quarterbacks, Sawyer Stallings and Major Stockton, will be returning to lead the Buffalo offense once again 310 N. St. Peter • Stanton • 432-607-2516 with the dynamic duo at running back of Nate Hernandez and Chris Mendez alongside them in the backfield. That is not all.
Leading tackler and one of the team’s top wide receviers, Cayden Morgan, will be back next season and could see an expanded role in the offense. At tight end, Brandon Valdez will be returning and Joshua Cervantes is another Buffalo playmaker that will be a senior next year.
Forsan will be losing some big bodies in the trenches with the impending graduation of Cameron Allen, Paul Evans, Ely Matthies, and Clayton Tucker next spring. In addition to those linemen, versatile safety Draykyln Henry will also be graduating and Forsan will miss his playmaking ability.
