Forsan Buffalo Tennis Team shines on court
The Forsan Buffalos Tennis team traveled to Irion County to compete in the Irion County Tournament this past weekend, March 13-14. The Buffs would have a solid performance both for the JV and Varsity teams.
Trevor Cole of the Junior Varsity Buffalo team got the ball rolling as he won the Boys Singles Championship. Joanna Gato and Hannah Hillger shined on the court to bring home the Girls Double Championship first-place. Jackson Hopper and Oscar lin continued the Buffalos dominance by getting a first-place win in the Boys Doubles. Blake Barclay rounded out the finishers with a second place in the Boys Singles.
On the Varsity level, it was more of the same as the Buffaloes showed that they came to play some Tennis. Thomas Gabehart lead things off when he won the Boys singles Championship. Hunter Cevallos finished in a close second in the Boys Singles. Rylee Yanez would round out the Buffalo tennis team's sweep as he finished in third, giving the Buffaloes all three top spots. On the Girl's side of things, Angel McCafferty had a strong second-place finish in the Girls singles. Rylee Evans and Reagan Phillips had an excellent showing placing second in the Girls Doubles. JB Wright and Ella Hoff placed third in the Mixed doubles.
The team effort from the Buffaloes was off the charts, as they played hard in every aspect of the game. This performance should only motivate the Buffs to continue the strong play moving forward. Congratulations to all the athletes that competed.
