Jha'Niah Johnson had an amazing season for the Lady Steers but came up short in the State tournament, where she Bombed out in the Squat and out of the meet. She is only a Junior and will be a force to reckon with in her upcoming Senior year.

Unfortunately, she also bombed out on the squat, eliminating her from the tournament. She was a leader on this team and will be sorely missed going forward. The example she set for the younger athletes will resonate for years to come.

Gissele Holguin, only a Sopho- more, finished 11th overall, meaning she is the eleventh strongest girl in all of State in her weight class, a phenomenal accomplishment at such a young age. The young Sophmore also earned a personal record on her squat and Bench. She finished up the meet with a 670 pound total. The future is bright for Gissele, and looking forward to seeing what's in store for her moving forward.

Jocelyn Gonzales finished off her Big Spring powerlifting career with an unbelievable third-place finish that earned the Lady Steer a Bronze Medal. Gonzales had a record-setting day for the Lady Steers; She set a school record with a fantastic 1000 pound total. She also set personal records in Squat with 395, Bench at 185, and deadlift with a massive 420 pounds. She was just inches away from a state
