Felipe “Phillip” Cruz Jr.

Felipe “Phillip” Cruz Jr., 71, of Big Spring passed away Sunday, Aug. 22, 2021. Rosary services will be 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 4, 2021, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, followed by Funeral Mass at 10 a.m.

He was born April 5, 1950, in Knott, Texas, to Felipe Cruz Sr. and Francisca Vidales Cruz.

Phillip was a lifelong resident of Howard County and had worked for Talyon Industries for 14 years.

Survivors include his wife, Irma Flores Cruz; four children, Christopher Cruz, Stephen Cruz, Elizabeth Rios and Felipe Cruz III and wife, Mary Ann and their son, Nathaniel; 12 brothers and sisters, Juan Cruz, Maria Valle, Francisco Cruz, Margarita Hwetty, Tommy Cruz, Elida Cruz, Anna Gregg, Hermenia Ledesma, Lupe Cruz, David Cruz, Jesse Cruz and Lydia Byrd; nine grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Dora Cruz, a brother Jose Cruz, and two sisters, Delfina Cortez and Martina Valle.
