Coahoma downs Sonora, 17-0
COAHOMA — Avery Rodriguez fired off a one-hitter and struck out six to help propel the Bulldogettes past Sonora 17-0 in a district softball match up on Thursday.
It only took Coahoma three innings to secure the victory while playing through a strong dust storm. Coahoma's big bats were lethal, driving in 16 runs in the first inning including a home run by freshman Baylor Wright.
Hannah Wells capped off the Bulldogette onslaught with her seventh home run of the season in the second inning. The game was called after the third due to the mercy rule.
Brynn Rodgers and Madison Rodgers led the Bulldogettes at bat. B. Rogers went 3-for-3 with two runs scored, one RBI, and two triples. M. Rodgers was 3-for-3 with two runs scored, one RBI, a double, a triple, and two steals.
Wells for 2-for-2 at the plate with three runs scored, one RBI, and a steal. Karleigh Burt was 2-for-3 with two runs scored, two RBI, a double, and a steal. Shae Lang hit a triple, drove in two runs, and got two steals. Wright drove in
