Bulldogs win Bi-District title over Brady
SWEETWATER — The pitching duo of Billy Bailey and Ky Kemper led the Coahoma Bulldogs to a Bi-District championship title on Friday, May 6. Coahoma won the baseball series 10-4, and 2-0 over Brady.
Bailey went seven innings on the mound and gave up four runs off of seven hits while striking out nine batters. Kemper sacrificed three hits, allowed no runs and struck out five over seven innings in game two of the series.
Kobe Cervantes hit one deep in the fourth inning of game one to score three runs. Cervantes, Brysen Kerby, Bailey and Kemper also had a double each for the series. Kemper and Kerby had one triple apiece in game one.
Next: Coahoma moves on to the area round of the UIL baseball championship playoff for the first time since 2013. The Bulldogs face Brock for the best of a three game series at the Abilene High School baseball
The Big Spring Steers football camp this year for incoming first through sixth graders will take place at Memorial Stadium on June 1-3. If you have a little one that would like to be part of the camp, stop by the Big Spring High School Athletic Training Center (ATC) and fill out a registration form.
The cost of the camp is $40, which includes a T-shirt.
The deadline to register is May 23.
If you field in Abilene. Game one starts at 4:30 p.m. on Friday with game two to follow. If necessary, game three will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday at AHS.
