Armando Franco, 86, of Big Spring died Friday, May 13, 2022.

Vigil service was Monday at 7 p.m. at Myers & Smith Chapel. Funeral Mass is scheduled Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with burial at Mt. Olive Memorial Park.

Armando was born September 24, 1935, in Marfa to Santos and Filomeno Franco. He grew up in Marfa and has lived in Big Spring for over 65 years. Armando helped build housing units at Webb Air Force Base. He worked for the City of Big Spring at Comanche Trail Park. He worked in road constructi­on. Also, he had worked for the Co-op Gins at Fairview and Stanton. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church.

Armando is survived by his wife, Paulita of Big Spring; four sons, Fernando Franco, David Franco, Robert Franco, and Jose Louis Franco Ontiveros; four daughters, Esmeralda Reyes, Diana Rodriguez, Gloria Melendez and Martha Hannum; one brother, Albert Franco; two sisters, Tomasa French and Catalina Flores; a number of grandchild­ren, greatgrand­children, and great-great-grandchild­ren; and his pets, Chico and Tigger.

In addition to his parents, Armando was preceded in death by two sons, J.D. Franco and Armando Franco Jr.; and three brothers, Hector Franco, Oscar Franco Sr., and Gilbert Franco.

Pallbearer­s will be David Franco, Fernando Franco, Lil John Franco, Steven Franco, Frankie Reyes, Ernest Morales, and Joshua Ontiveros. Honorary pallbearer­s will be Tony Solis, Roland Anglin, Todd Van Loo, C.J. Solis, Jose Louis Ontiveros and Albert Franco.
