At Crestview Baptist, we believe the most fulfilling pursuit is not entertainm­ent, gimmicks or programs. The most fulfilling pursuit for a follower of Christ is to know Christ and His word, so that we may live for him.

If you believe that, please come and worship with us. Sunday School starts at 10 a.m. Worship begins at 11 a.m., and our Sunday and Wednesday night meetings are at 6:30 p.m.

We embrace the 1689 Baptist Confirmati­on of Faith. Come and be with us at 2305 Gatesville Rd., Big Spring.

Director Gabe Martinez will be leading music this week. Rev. Allen Cross will be preaching a sermon entitled: Living Outside the Gate. Scripture readings for this Sunday are: Psalm 112; Luke 14:8-14; Hebrews 13:11-13.

Sunday School is on summer break until Labor Day however, Take Ten fellowship will continue in our parlor at 10:20 on Sunday mornings. We having a prayer breakfast this Saturday morning at 8 a.m. and welcome members and non-members alike.

Two popular weekly events have returned this month. The Women’s Bible Study resumed August 3. The video history series resumed August 17 and is about the history of the American West. These weekly events are open to all the community.

Members and non-members alike are invited to take advantage of the spiritual resources available on our website and Facebook page. They include a six day each week prayer podcast, a weekly scripture reading and commentary, a weekly devotional, a Sunday worship preview, and a video release of each Sunday’s sermon. All these tools and resources prepare us for the coming Sunday worship.

The Lectionary Bible Study meets at 5 p.m.

Thursday: Everyone is invited to join the Lunch Bunch at 11:30 a.m.
