Coahoma softball team goes 4-1 in Franklin Tournament over the weekend
Bulldogettes set to open up district play today against Grape Creek

The Coahoma softball team concluded it's non-district regular season as they competed in the Franklin Tournament over the weekend. The Bulldogettes wrapped up the tournament on Saturday
with two dominant wins to finish with a 4-1 record.
The Bulldogetes beat the Rudder Lady Rangers 5-0 early Saturday and ended the day with a 14-1 win over the Cameron Lady Yoe. The Bulldogettes opened up the tournament on Friday with an impressive 11-0 win over Gatesville. Coahoma followed that up with a 6-0 win over the Danbury Lady Panthers.
The only loss for Coahoma was the last game of the day on Friday to the Rogers Lady Eagles with a final score of 4-3. Overall the Bulldogettes were impressive all around as they scored a total of 31 runs throughout the tournament. Coahoma also had a total of seven home runs as well with freshman Mia Clemmer hitting a total of four.
Coahoma's pitchers also had a great tournament as well as both Makayla Calvio and Hannah Wells only surrendered five runs throughout the tournament. Wells was dominant in the circle as she pitched for 12.1 innings giving up only one run, six walks, and struck out 25 batters. Cavlio pitched for 8 innings giving up only four runs, three walks, and striking out six batters.
The Bulldogettes will open up District 6-3A play today as they travel to Grape Creek to take on the Lady Eagles. Varsity game time is set for 4 p.m.
