CROSSROADS HS BASKETBALL: Area teams approachin­g final district games with playoffs looming

Area Crossroad teams are approachin­g final games of the season while others are fighting for playoff contention or gearing up for the post-season.

DISTRICT 5-4A: BIG SPRING VS SWEETWATER

Big Spring split it’s games with San Angelo Lakeview Friday with the Lady Steers emerging victorious over the Maidens and the Steers falling to the Chiefs.

The Lady Steers who currently boast a 2-7 record in the district standings is out of the playoff hunt and will look to cap off it’s season on high note as they try to upset the Lady Mustangs in it’s final District 5-4A game of the season. Tipoff is set for 6:15 p.m.

The Steers who currently sit in last place with a 1-6 record in District 5-4A have a slight chance to capture a playoff spot but will need to win out it’s remaining district scheule including tonight’s game against Sweetwater at home and get some help from a couple of other District 5-4A teams. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m.

DISTRICT 6-3A: COAHOMA VS SA TLCA

Both the Bulldogs and Bulldogett­es fell to Wall this past Friday night in District 6-3A action.

Despite the loss, the Bulldogett­es have already punched their ticket into the playoffs boasting a 9-4 district record to sit in third place in the district standings. The Bulldogett­es will close out it’s season tonight with a trip to San Angelo to take on TLCA. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m.

The Bulldogs currently sit in fourth place with a 6-5 District 6-3A record. The Bulldogs will have two district games remaining after tonight’s big matchup against San Angelo TLCA. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m.

DISTRICT 7-2A: FORSAN VS OZONA

The Lady Buffaloes will close out District 7-2A play tonight on the road against 13th ranked Ozona. The Lady Buffs had already secured its playoff spot with a win over Eldorado which locked Forsan into a third place finish in the district standings.

Forsan will try to end it’s district portion of the season on a high note as they try to upset the Lady Lions on the road. Tipoff is set for 6:15 p.m.

The Buffaloes now sit in fourth after beating a tough Eagles team in Eldorado this past Friday night in District 7-2A action.

With the win the Buffaloes improved to 7-4 on the season with three games remaining on the schedule including a long road trip south to Ozona. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
