SAVE MONEY: START SEEDS
Use these basic guidelines to start annuals indoors.
• Buy a potting mix that’s specifically for seed starting. • Find containers that are 2 to 3 inches deep and have some drainage.
• Follow the instructions on the seed packet for planting. • Keep the soil moist, not dry or soggy.
• Place seedlings in a southfacing window or under grow lights for no more than 15 hours per day.
• After several weeks, slowly expose seedlings to the outdoors for a few hours each day.
