When your guests head home, take the party outside.

• Remove ornaments, tinsel and lights from the tree to reduce any hazards.

• Set the tree outside, away from windows, so birds can perch on its fragrant branches.

• Hang up festive snacks, like pine cones smeared with peanut butter, popcorn or cranberries.

• Create a miniature tree by attaching branches to a tomato cage if a full-sized pine is too large for your yard.
