I went on a pontoon ride

with two of my favorite bird nerd friends. While looking up into the trees at great blue herons, I spotted some beautiful autumn colors in the crook of a tree along the shore. As I was thinking about how a bird would make the photo more wonderful, this little red-eyed vireo showed up and obliged.
