10 Blue grama
BOUTELOUA GRACILIS, ZONES 3 TO 10
Blue grama is a graceful grass that grows readily on the Great Plains but is tough enough for other zones. Once established, this warm-season grass reaches 2 feet tall, prefers dry soils and needs lots of sun.
Why we love it: The beauty of blue grama is that it’s extremely low-maintenance, with an extraordinary eyelashlike seed head.
