YOUR YUMA COUNTY Chamber of Commerce is constantly striving to make sure our members get a high rate of return on their investment and we are delivering a high return to the organization. These can be in the form of cash receipts from new and returning members and events, or value driven through advocacy efforts, trainings, marketing and networking. As we continue to be a 3C Chamber, (to Champion small business, Convene civic leaders and policy makers to build a better community and Convey great ideas for positive growth and overall prosperity), we must continue to look at how we are spending our time, to make sure we are delivering on those promises. We continue to look at how we can best serve our members, our community, and our internal staff.

After five years of publishing Yuma BIZ, we decided that the team at the Yuma Sun might be better suited to do what they do best; compile great business stories, compose colorful pages in a professionally printed magazine, coordinate a delivery crew to make sure the magazine gets to the right hands in the right places, convincing the members that the expanded distribution is worthy of consideration, while continuing its partnership with the Yuma County Chamber of Commerce. This is a huge benefit to the members of the Chamber, as the magazine’s reach is triple what it once was, and the voice of business now has a bigger audience.

We are more than “Yuma’s Best” Networking Organization. We love the moniker, but taking the composition, coordination, ad sales and fulfilment of story content off our plates will give us more time to deliver on expanded training opportunities, both for the membership and for the Chamber staff. We will be lobbying hard this legislative session on issues that mean the most to you, the business members of the Yuma County Chamber of Commerce. We must expand the Armed Forces Park soon, get Highway 95 widened all the way to Aberdeen Road, fight off an appetite from outside forces to continue raising the minimum wage like Flagstaff, and expand our footprint into South County.

As we head into the holiday season, please continue to Shop Locally. Thanks.
