WHAT INSPECTORS LOOK FOR
The Yuma County Health District’s primary focus is to safeguard the health of the community. Some specific items that inspectors look for are:
Cooking, holding or cooling temperatures control practices.
Employee health and hygiene.
Food condition at delivery and source of the food.
Prevention of contamination during storage, cooking and serving.
Date markings and disposal dates during storage and sell.
Consumer advisory provided. This is needed when consuming raw or undercooked foods, such as sushi, ceviche, meat and eggs, etc., that are not thoroughly cooked.
Demonstration of management and employees food safety knowledge.
Practices for holding foods outside of a warmer or refrigerator.
Other items that are considered critical, such as minor cleanliness issues, minor structural damage, etc.
