FROM THE FILES OF YUMA SUN’S COMINGS AND GOINGS
WITH A CEREMONY on Sept. 6, the Cocopah Indian Tribe celebrated the groundbreaking of a new convenience store that will be located on Highway 95, across from the Cocopah Casino.
The new store is expected to open in the spring of 2020 and will feature 16 vehicle pumps, seven truck trailer diesel pumps, traffic signal access and bus and trailer parking.
It will also have an information center, coffee shop with drive-thru and a 19-door cooler and walk-in beer cave. The convenience store portion will occupy 9,060 square feet and have an expanded line of products.
Construction is expected to be finished in April 2020.

Border Boots closed its doors, but a Red Wing Shoe Store opened Sept. 9 in the same location at 1335 S. Pacific Ave., Suite 101A, across from Sam’s Club.
The store now goes by Red Wing, instead of Border Boots, and is owned by Red Wing Corporate.
Dallas Evans, owner of Border Boots, decided to retire and is enjoying his retirement driving cross country.

A store that some readers have been eagerly awaiting is Ulta Beauty, Cosmetic & Personal Care. The brand new store opened at 1448 S. Yuma Palms Parkway, Suite A, next to the newly opened Mor Furniture.
The chain beauty store offers cosmetics, makeup, fragrance, skincare, bath and body and hair care tools. Each store comes equipped with
a salon.
