On a Question We Asked
BLACK BELT: What is your favorite Michael Jai White movie and why?
Josh Barnett: The one where he beats up that guy.
Geoffrey Traylor: Never Back Down
3 because I saw him use more of his karate. And I learned about the
makiwara board for conditioning the hands! And cause the fight scenes were super cool, too! It’s between that and Spawn because childhood LOL.
Kevin Mace: Not so much the movie, but love [the] scene in Never Back Down 3 when the cage fighter mocks him doing traditional style and kata. And then gets destroyed sparring him. Chris Wight: Black Dynamite! It hits all the marks for ’70s-style blaxploitation movies.
Tim Lord: Blood and Bone is a great one. So are his Never Back Down movies. In those, he plays himself. I’ve met him. He came to train at the dojo I was at. He is a legit athlete and badass. Very down to earth, was very shy when I told him how much I liked his movies.
Corey Pryor: All his movies ... great actor and superb martial artist. His martial arts that he portrays on film are actually real.
Harona Ceesay: Blood and Bone. Cause it shows the humility of a true martial artist.
Michael Kriso: I don’t care. I’m still mad because he wasn’t the Black Panther.
