On a Question of the Day

BLACK BELT: Have you been “saved” by the martial arts? If so, how?

Black Belt - - COMMUNITY -

Tom Ladue: I do NOT want to think about the direction I was going when I found martial arts. Would not have been good for me or society!

Steve Torres: Martial arts has kept my weight and blood pressure low and taught me to be more aware of my surroundings.

Lyras Terr: Fell on the ice a couple of times, would’ve hit my head without ukemi training.

Luis Perdices: I don’t know that learning how to fall saved my life, but it has saved me from injuries. I also have a higher fitness level and the benefits that come with that. Finally, working with kids as an instructor helped me when I became a father.

Rich: I learnt to walk away.

Sensei Jones: I learned to focus on the solution to a problem instead of focusing on the problem itself.
