Cox Powertrain’s 300 hp four-stroke V-8 diesel outboard debuted at the 2018 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. The twin turbocharged CXO300 features an aluminum crankcase displacing 4 liters. The British-built outboard also has direct fuel injection and is EPA Tier III compliant for diesel emissions. The high-speed diesel tops out 4,000 rpm and weighs approximately 827 pounds. Though targeted primarily at the commercial marine market, Cox also expects substantial interest from recreational boaters. Pricing was unavailable as of press time.
