INSTALL SERVOS

-

High-speed servos inside the transom deploy and retract the interceptor blades. For each interceptor, align the servo flange with the previously installed shaft sleeve and secure with the three supplied stainless-steel screws. Torque the screws as directed. Align the three pins on the flange with the holes on the servo unit. Apply grease to the threads of the three servo mounting bolts and torque as directed in the instructions. Plug in the servo cables in the ports on the back side of each servo.

MOUNT CONTROL

MODULE The HCU501 control module needs to be aligned with the hull to enable automatic trim functions. Mount it high on the inside of the transom (to avoid water), perpendicular to the centerline and parallel to the waterline. Secure the module with four 8 mm screws. Plug the other end of the servo cables into the HCU501 (receptacle A or the starboard servo, B or the port servo). Connect the power-supply wires (10-amp fuse in the positive wire) to a 12-volt DC power source as directed.

INSTALL GPS ANTENNA

Mount the GPS antenna on a horizontal exterior surface with an unobstructed view of the sky. Drill a 27 mm hole and pull the connector, cable, toothed washer and nut through the hole. Use the stainlesssteel open washer underneath the hole to secure the antenna with the toothed washer and nut. Do not over tighten. An exterior gasket creates a watertight seal. Route the 14-meter GPS antenna cable to the helm area, where it will connect with the CP501 control panel, which installs in the next step.

INSTALL CONTROL

PANEL Choose a helm location that offers space and easy access to the CP501 control panel while piloting the boat. Use the supplied template to mark the 80 mm hole and two 8 mm holes for the mounting screws. Ensure there is clearance under the mount surface, and then use an 80 mm hole saw to cut the hole and 8 mm bits for the mounting holes. Secure the panel from behind using the two 5 mm screws and composite nuts. Use the nuts to tighten the seal around the panel on the helm surface.

ROUTE AND CONNECT

Plug the HCU/RCU adapter into the bus port on the HCU501’s left side

(as viewed on the inner transom). Connect the control-panel cable to the adapter. Route the cable’s other end to the control panel, and plug into the four-pin port on the left side (as viewed from the back). Insert the HCU/RCU termination plug into control bus to the right; insert the control-panel termination plug into the last four-pin port on right. Plug the GPS antenna cable into four-pin port at top; plug in the power supply to the control unit.
