ARGO FRONTIER 700 8X8

-

The Argo (argoxtv.com) offers some of the greatest motorized fun you can have on land, plus the ability to idle through some water that gets between you and even more fun. It’s made for hunters and anglers, or people who like to explore areas off the beaten path.

While not known for blazing speed (it can hit 19 mph on land), the thing that stood out in our opportunity to drive one was how maneuverable it was. We could power the Argo straight up or straight down a hill, run it sideways, make pinpoint turns, and climb over just about anything. We drove it straight into the water on a lakeshore and, sure enough, we could make slow and steady progress in the protected harbor. While it’s 3 mph top-end on the water means you’re not taking anyone water-skiing, it will traverse calm waters at low speeds.

The Argo Frontier 700 is powered by a Kohler 23 hp gasoline engine. With its eight 24-by-10-inch “mud and swim” tires on 8-inch stainless-steel rims, the Frontier 700 has the traction to get through the muckiest terrain. It can hold six people on land and four on the water, and is capable of towing up to 1,200 pounds.

New for 2021 is Argo’s APS (Argo Progressive Steering) system, which implements a dual-rate progressive spring to ensure smooth, continuous turning via the handlebars. The full-length skid plate underneath protects the vehicle while crossing terrain or heading into the water. It also has a standard bilge pump.
