RAYMARINE YACHTSENSE DIGITAL SWITCHING

Marine digital switching systems from brands such as Blue Sea Systems, CZone, Dometic and others are now mainstream, appearing on many new boats. The newest player in this field is Raymarine YachtSense from FLIR, an advanced digital control system that allows monitoring and control of onboard electrical circuits.

Though sounding like a big-boat product, YachtSense offers a scalable and customizable marine control system that is suitable for boats down to 35 feet length overall. Each system begins with the YachtSense master module and power-supply module, and is completed with a combination of additional multichannel signal modules. These interface with specific types of onboard devices and systems such as lighting, pumps, windlass, entertainment systems, air conditioning and generators.

You can monitor and control it with a Raymarine Axiom touchscreen multifunction display with user-interface options that empower marine manufacturers and installers to create vessel automation solutions. In addition, YachtSense delivers electrical redundancy. The master module features an integrated keypad for manual override, as well as an LCD screen for system diagnostics. All YachtSense modules are housed in rugged IPX6 waterproof enclosures and backed by a three-year warranty.

Like most marine digital switching systems, YachtSense is not well-suited to do-ityourself installations. Ideally, system installation should be dovetailed into the boat during the construction and rigging process.
