Deutsch connectors are the gold standard for building waterproof electrical-harness connections in the boatbuilding industry, but DIY boaters can custom-make their own Deutsch connectors using kits such as the DT-150 connector set ($99.99, amazon.com) from Deutsch. This basic kit contains 153 pieces, including one-, two-, three- and four-pin connectors. Tools needed to connect wires to the pins are not included. Consider using Deutsch connectors on future projects in place of butt connectors or soldering to create wire connections.
